The implementation of the new edition of National Basic Safety Technical Specification for Textile Products in August
BROESE:1451

A year after the transition period, the new edition of the National Technical Specification for Basic Safety of Textile Products will be formally implemented on August 1, this year. Textile products that do not meet the new standards will be banned from production, sale and import. The new national standard has the greatest impact on children's clothes aged 2 to 3 years. Compared with the old national standard, the new national standard enlarges the age range of textile products for infants and young children. That is to say, 2-3-year-old children's clothing manufactured according to the original standard will be completely Off-Shelf after August.

This compulsory implementation of the "National Basic Safety Technical Specification for Textile Products" has the greatest impact on infant textile products. In the old standard, textile products for infants and young children are defined as "textile products worn or used by infants and young children under 24 months of age". In the new national standard, textile products worn or used by infants and young children under 36 months of age are replaced by "textile products worn or used by infants and young children under 36 months of age".

The indicators specified in the standard include formaldehyde content, pH value, odor, etc. Among them, clothing products conforming to Class A standard value can be used by infants; clothing products conforming to Class B standard value can be worn close to the body; clothing products conforming to Class C standard value can be worn after testing. The new standard has changed the definition of textile products for infants and young children from "24 months or less than 80 centimeters" to "36 months or less than 100 centimeters". This means that the age range of textile products for infants and young children is enlarged, and textile products for infants and young children under 36 months or 100 centimeters in height should be included in the assessment scope of category A products.

In addition, in the new national standard, 4-aminoazobenzene is included in the prohibited detection list for the first time. Consumers should carefully look at the hanging tag when purchasing.
